Hi there! I’m Hexley - artist, storyteller, and the hands (and heart!) behind The Gloaming, offering a little bit of cozy, witchy magic straight from a small town in the Scottish Borders.
The Gloaming was born at the crossroads of creativity, folklore, and care. I've always loved crafting, but my deeper journey into herbalism and aromatherapy began when I was searching for gentle, holistic ways to help my child manage severe eczema. What started as a personal mission soon bloomed into a passion—and eventually, a full-time calling.
Gloaming is more than just a brand - it’s a little spellbound corner of the world where cozy meets magical, and every handmade piece carries a whisper of folklore. Every item is made by me, from start to finish - no outsourcing, no mass production. Inspired by the misty landscapes and ancient legends of Scotland, I create candles, wax melts, artwork, and everyday items for your home.
I blend storytelling into everything I craft, so you're not just buying a product - you’re receiving a moment, a feeling, a bit of enchantment to carry with you. From eco-friendly soy wax melts to art infused with myth and moss, everything I make is rooted in story. I grow many of my own herbs, lean into my Scottish heritage, and draw daily inspiration from ancient lore, forest walks, and the soft chaos of life with my crazy family and our cat, Kitty Purry (yes, really).
I recently began crafting full-time in order to pour my heart into making things that feel good, do good, and spark a little joy!

You can often find me streaming live cozy craft sessions, where I chat with my community and show behind-the-scenes peeks into works-in-progress. I also host the Gloaming Podcast where I dive into the folklore and legends that inspire my creations—paired with limited-edition scent drops that bring the stories to life!
